What I wrote was what was recommended. The US Public Health Service and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists both recommend 0.4mg (400mcg) to help prevent neural tube defects. For malnourished women, one paper recommended 0.8mg and for women with a previous pregnancy affected by neural tube defects, 4.0mg per day were recommended. Hope this clears up the confusion. ;-)
