prolapse after bowel disimpactmentFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 11 Apr 2000 06:16:55 -0500 (CDT)
Dear Docs, this story is very, very embarrassing but here goes... After the birth of my baby I and a battle with constipation, the doctor had the resident disimpact me (which I question since the pelvic floor was already stretched from the birth). The resident tore me apart (literally)! I had not been the same since, and out of fear of ever having that done again, I would strain my brains out to go to the bathroom,(I was also very irrational at the time) approximately one week after the disimpactment, I felt something fall inside of me while straining, I prolapsed everything, and a bulge popped out of my rectum. My question is could this have been caused from the disimpaction--overstretching the ligaments there ect. Also, if the bulge is peroneal tissue can it be fixed? This is very embarressing, and I was not myself at the time--anxiety and fear were controlling me at that time. Please help!! if ligaments were overstretched does that mean permanent weak spot and permenant bulge from the rectum?
