Alcohol in Early Days of Pregnancy.From: Jane (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 11 Apr 2000 01:20:59 -0500 (CDT)
Alcohol in Early Pregnancy Firstly I apologise for what must be a very familiar scenario and one which fits the stereotype of the typical boozing Aussie female. Despite good intentions, I had reason to presume that I was not pregnant during the month of conception. In fact it seemed (to me) unlikely that I would ever conceive naturally. I took up to 4 glasses of red wine at parties on two occasions. One instance was probably 3 days prior to conception. The other would have been on the 10th day after conception. I also consumed drank what Aussies call a 'schooner' (a little less than the English pint) of Guinness on another occasion (Day 17) ... directly after a funeral. Across Days 18-19 I consumed a bottle of red wine. Naturally I have abstained totally since suspecting pregnancy ... at Day 19. While very very happy to be pregnant (a glorious condition), I am still somewhat concerned for the well-being of the foetus and viability of this particular pregnancy. Information of any kind is greatly appreciated.
