Meconium in Ruptured MembranesFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 6 Apr 2000 07:19:33 -0500 (CDT)
I was wondering what doctors usually do when they find spots of meconium in ruptured membranes. When I arrived at the hospital to be checked to see if i was far enough along to be admitted I got sick and my water broke, my mom was in the room and noticed the meconium. The nurse however said it was from me and not anything else. We def. know now that is was indeed the mec. If doctors saw this what would be the next step?? I know that it usually means that there is distress. My baby was taken by c-section 4 hours later (emergency) because the heart beat was so very low. She died hours later. Born without a heart beat and was revived 25 min. later.
