An Update, folks, and boy was I right last weekFrom: AnnMarie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 5 Apr 2000 10:29:47 -0500 (CDT)
I'm trying to do do what I can this morning. I am on modified bed rest (spend 1/2 the day in bed, night and afternoon). To refresh you slightly...Two weeks ago I had mild pelvic pains for a whole afternoon plus a couple of small red spots. Next day fewer of those pains and more mild, then the "slime". The nurse said everything was normal(!) and to call if there was enough bleeding to soak a pad. I was just thinking, Normal--Yeah, right! Fine I'll watch it and tell the doc at my app't. Bet he'll think different. And he did! He was obviously a little angry over what the nurse said and did. I think she got into a little trouble yesterday when he left the room. Anyways, the doctor said that the cervix was very soft and effacing, and has begun to "funnel". That is what seems to have caused that little bleeding and blood tinged "slime" so to speak ;-) So when I checked my own cervix that one day I really wasn't imagining things. As far as the rest of the app't, up five pounds this month (gained nothing last app't). Good B/P, better than great diabetes test last week, actually low. He checked the baby's position but didn't tell me--he just got a more serious look again. I am going for weekly visits from now on. I left work right on time last night. Far as I know I'll be back tonight for more. The Rx Manager is on vacation and we are making sure that I work no later until we figure out what to do with my schedule. My husband and I have to talk more about my hours. The doctor would prefer that I don't work, but is cautiously letting me as long as we consider not working and/or adjusting the schedule. We have to see what will work out. Other than that, just the usual lots of water, nothing strenuous, blah blah blah. Thanks for all of you being here and responding to my posts before! AM
