I struggled with the decision as well and decided to go ahead with it. The test was not that bad. The hardest part was waiting the 10 days for the results. My doctor has done over a thousand amnios and it sounds like you're going to someone with experience as well. That's most important. The overall stats are for complications in 1 out of 200 (or .5%). With an experienced Dr. that number drops to 1/400 or even 1/600. You have to do what's right for you but 1% of amnios do not result in a loss of the baby. Good luck.
