The only way to know for sure is to wait another 2 days and test again (I also had VERY tender breasts/nipples and a negative test 2 days before my period was due back in October. I'm due in July). I understand that waiting is very hard, but some people actually have to wait more than 14 dpo to get a positive test. There are several places like parentsplace and parentsoup that have boards where you can post with other women experiencing the same thing. 4 months, medically speaking, isn't really all that long to have to try (I think its the average, in fact) although I am sure it is agonizing to you.
