ovarian cyst-corpus luteum?

I had an ultrasound this morning and was told by the technician that I have a 4 cm cyst on my left ovary. Could this be a corpus luteum cyst even though I know for a fact that I am not pregnant? Do these cysts always occur after ovulation? Is 4 cm a "normal" size for this type of cyst? I have had some pain for a week now, and was diagnosed with possible endometritis and am being treated for it. Could this cyst be the source of my pain rather than endometritis? What is the usual treatment for a cyst of this size? Will it go away on its own? I really don't want to have to go through another laparoscopy (4 weeks ago they removed a 3 cm cyst on my RIGHT ovary - it had been mistaken for a tubal ectopic pregnancy on ultrasound). Please help me figure this out, 'cause I'm confused!!!
