However, most Radiologists and Obstetricians attempt to avoid the test in the first trimester only because that is when the developing fetus is most vulnerable. Will the MRI hurt your fetus-not likely. Would I recommend my wife to be electively exposed to it in the first trimester, if I could avoid it-no, probably not.
