VBAC-doctors in favor in WIFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 29 Mar 2000 15:44:15 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I recently went through a C-section which I'm not completely convinced I needed. I was labled failure to progress after being in the hopital for 29 hours and getting to almost 7 centimeters. BUT I was strapped to the bed after the first 5hrs. with IV, fetal moniter(external until breaking water and internal after) IV pain meds and nothing by mouth. I am type II diabetic, but was in excellent control and infact was having low sugs and baby was coming on her own one day before schedualed inducement. Baby weighed in at 8lbs. 1 and 1/2 ounces. At the time the doc. told me she wanted to do the section she said the baby was not in distress and that I was okay but that having the c-sect. would "prevent anyone getting into distress. I weighed 300+ lbs. at the time. Does that have anything to do with it? What are my chances of a vaginal delivery next time? Are there any REALLY pro-vaginal birth after c-section docs in central WI? I'd appreciate any replies.
