The blood pressure that is normal for you is most accurately measured in the first trimester. Maternal blood pressures actually go down somewhat in the 18-19 week range. If a patient manifests elevations in her blood pressure at this time, I begin to get concerned about hypertension. If it is high at this point, it will only get worse as the maternal cardiac output begins to peak at 28-32 weeks.
