Debra You do not say what degree of lesion you have on your cervix(we call it dysplasia or squamous intraepithelial lesion-sil) and we usually quantify it as to the severity (nearness to cervical cancer). If it is mild enough, it needs to be watched during the pregnancy to be sure it does not get markedly worse, but yes in the majority of cases, it does not affect pregnancy, nor does pregnancy affect it. Be sure you ask your doc what level it is (lo grade sil or mild to moderate dysplasia, or hi grade sil-marked dysplasia to carcinoma in situ), and what kind of followup he will be doing during the pregnancy. Good Luck ps-only under the most extraordinary circumstances will this disease process lead to a C-section.
