Unfortunately, there is no right answer to either the chocolate or caffiene questions from a scientific standpoint. However, there is no definitive evidence that either are harmful when used in moderation. The amount that you describe is very unlikely to cause a problem. The reason there is so much caution and reluctance to give reassurance in any of these situations is because of the fact that there is a 5-7% risk of congenital abnormalities occuring in any pregnancy, without any known risk factor or ingestions. Therefore, nobody can assure any patient that "your baby will be just fine".
