I am unaware that the ACOG guidelines have been revised to say that it is not standard of care to dip the urine for protein at each prenatal visit. I just checked and the "Guide to Effective Care of Pregnancy and Childbirth" based on the Cochrane database says that the urine should be dipped for protein. I might understand doing it at the first prenatal visit and then not again until the 24 week prenatal visit, but at every visit after 24 weeks. This is considered to be a screening test for pre-eclampsia.
