Aren't monthly urine checks part of routine OB care?

When I was pregnant with my first child over five years ago, my doctor used to have me bring a urine sample to each appointment and they would test it. I have seen my current doctor twice and it has never been mentioned. I thought that this was something that was supposed to be monitored. Is that no longer the case? Thanks.
