skin rash and terrible itchingFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 13 Mar 2000 15:45:45 -0600 (CST)
I am currently 30.5 weeks. Over the last 2 days, I have developed a skin rash with terrible itching. The rash seems to be localized to my posterior forearms and anterior thighs. I do not have a fever, nausea or any other sympotoms of illness, just this rash! I have not used any new soaps, lotions, or detergents recently (although I use lotion daily for dry skin), nor have I used any new medicaitons during my pregnancy. I have Hashimoto's Thyriodtis, could this rash be a result of low T3 or T4? I take a synthyroid daily, and have my TSH monitored monthly, the last was 3 weeks ago. Should I be concerned about this annoying problem? Is this a common problem in pregnancy? My next doctor's appointment is a week away, should I just "itch" it out until then, or should I make an emergency appointment? Trying not to sratch is like trying not to breath right now! Any help will be appreciated!
