Old Eggs & Miscarriage

My sister-in-law who is 31 years old has never had any children. She has had three miscarriages within the last year. Twice she got to 8 weeks but was told the the fetus was only about 5 weeks. Once she got to 13 weeks but was told the fetus was only 7 or 8 weeks. She was finally able to get into a fertility clinic this month and was given only 5 minutes of their time. They used a lot of technical terms that didn't mean anything to her and was told that there are about 15 different tests that she may take over the next little while. She was also told that she had "old eggs" that are more like those of a woman in her forties. We are interested in knowing what that could really means as she is scared and confused. Has anyone else ever been told this? What will her chances of having a baby be now that she has found this out? Thanks.
