surgery for prolapseFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 13 Mar 2000 06:13:01 -0600 (CST)
Dear Doc's I know that you say it is not possible to cause prolapse by straining, but I really think I did--my muscles were weak from birth and then I really strained at which point I felt something fall inside of me and I felt different immediately after. I did not think much at the time but I really do think I caused my prolapses (all fell) that way (especially sicne I felt seomthing give) does this change any treatment course or is it still just as bad. I do have symptoms when I try to run or jog or go for long walks. I am 25, and really want to feel "normal" again. what is the best treatment plan (not a pessy)Is surgery an option at this point? Also, can you give me any info/research pages as to the wear and tear of the operations for the pelvic prolapses? Is this an operation that will require surgery ever 5-10 years, 20 years or will it last a long time. I can't find anything also, can you recommend any surgeon in the Boston area? Thanks, susan
