Dear doctors:

My grandmother suffered a prolapsed uterus and bladder in her 40's. At that time the doc's sutured / stiched everything back up into place. This lasted until she was in her 80's (82), at which point she had a hysterectomy and the bladder lifted again. She is now 92 with no problems thus far. She was not a sedentary person she was quite active. My question is that I would think that if her uterus suture lasted all those years that long ago, we would have come a lot farther in medicine today. What options are out there? It seems most OB's shun sutures and are pro hysterectomy why???
