Various brands of urine tests detect different amounts of HCG in the urine. Your best bet is to wait until you have missed your period, even the day after it was expected, to test. If negative and no period, wait a week and test again. Some kits have two test wands included.

Not always. My son was over 11 lbs and my daughter was 8 lbs even.
