Almost all the nurses in the NICU at the hospital were certified lactation consultants, and extremely helpful. So supportive! I pumped so much, after 2 weeks, I was producing 6-8 ounces every 3-4 hours! You can imagine what happened when a newborn tried to eat, I almost drowned her. But the nurses encouraged me to produce as much as possible, to make it very easy to transition from the bottle she had to get in the hospital. It's very hard to pump, I would sit in her nursery at home to remind me I even had a baby, but I kind of got addicted to it. It gave me something productive to do while others cared for my her.
