I have read and heard various places that it is usually no longer than 4 weeks from when the baby engages until labor begins. Is this consistent with other mom's experiences?

My due date isn't for another 4 weeks - but this baby has been engaged for a week and a half. It's getting really uncomfortable. I was just wondering if anyone could clue me in and tell me whether this is just a rough estimate, or if it truly lines up with reality and people's experiences.
