Hi Vicki, I have no idea why women do that, unless it's to prove what they "suffered" through. My daughter's birth two years ago was the best of them all (so far) and I told my hubby and doc 30 minutes after she was born (because that's when the doc arrived) that I was ready to do it all over again. I felt so great and powerful!! What state are you in? Do you know what the HB/midwifery climate is in your state? I am in MN and it's pretty hostile here even though a bill was passed last summer legalizing homebirth. My hubby and I have contemplated this option for a long time and still have not come to a final decision. The hospitals in my area are pretty strict on what they "allow" VBAC women to do during labor. All the best, Mary
