I know it's hard not to worry about the safety of your baby. And in late pregnancy when baby is so prominent, you feel like any movement is going to squish him or her. Keep in mind that your baby is encased in several protective layers to keep him/her safe: the amniotic fluid, the membranes and the uterus, which is a strong muscle.

In my last pregnancy I had trouble sleeping on my side. My daughter would press her feet into the mattress to let me know she was not a happy camper - either that or she was learning how to jump on the bed at a really early age! I rolled to my right side and we both slept fine. With my son, he was so huge (over 11lbs at birth, and I am short with little room for a large baby) that I could not sleep in bed for the last two months at all. I slept in a recliner with a couple pillows strategically placed and we did fine.

You are the only one who will be able to determine your most comfortable sleeping position. Experiment to find what is most comfortable and your baby will be fine too.

Hope you get some sleep!!
