Hi. My Sister In Law asked me to research information for her. She has been diagnosed with a septated uterus. About 5 yrs ago she suffered a miscarriage with her 1st pregnancy at 10 wks. She then became pregnant a couple of years later and delivered at 37 wks, but lost this child the next day. It was found to have hydroplastic left heart. About 6 months later, she became pregnant and delivered at 36 wks. This little girl is healthy, though she spent a week in neonatal intensive care . Last week she suffered another miscarriage at 14 wks. She has been told briefly of an operation to correct the septated uterus but would like to have further information on the pros and cons of the procedure. The Dr. believes that the miscarriages could be due to the placenta attaching to the septum instead of the uterine wall.

We would really appreciate any information you could give on this condition.

Sandy P.S. I forgot to mention that she has also been diagnosed with endometriosis and only weeks before this last pregnancy had a D&C and some endometriosis tissue was removed.
