Cathy, I am sorry, but a heart beat is usually seen when the hCG level is over 2,500 or so, so it should have definitely been seen when hte level was > 17,000.

My heart goes out to you. I had 2 miscarriages, so I know how awful it is to have your heart and hopes broken. Have you been evaluated by a reproductive endocrinologist for a possible (and treatable) cause for your miscarriages?

although it is little comfort, know that tonight you are in the thoughts and prayers of the obgyn.net family.
