I could really use advice on this matter

My husband and I have been trying to have a second child. My son is 18 months old and has epilepsy and cerebral palsy due to lack of oxygen during labor and delivery. He's a hand full and becuase the seizures still aren't undr control and he is very delayed I tend to be very stressed out by worrying. ever since I had Michael, I've had regular periods...28-30 days, 5 days long, bad cramps. well, the last 3 months I've been showing symptoms off and on of pregnancy (I cry at the drop of the hat all the time and my clumsiness is back)and my periods have been off; late, early and only 3 days, very light and mild cramps if any. Is it stress? It use to be that if i was stressed, I'd have my period early and it would be very very heavy. So, what's going on? Should I take a home test just to be sure?
