Re: breastfeeding and HCG levels

I have a related question. I am breastfeeding also and have not had a period yet, my daughter is 5 months old. I was wondering, as a rule, if you do become pregnant while nursing, do you have to stop nursing. And if so, when and why? Just curious really, I don't think I am pregnant (but in all honesty we haven't been very careful). Also, my daughter refuses bottles completely so I can't ween her right now even if I wanted to. <<Nope, should not have effect on HCG. I am guessing no birth control? Many women who breastfeed do not have regular cycles, some do not have cycles while nursing. (does not mean breastfeeding is birth control) You state you have been breastfeeding for a year. I applaud you for the wonderful start you are giving your baby, and wish more moms would nurse.
