Re: Endometriosis/laproscopy&PregnancyFrom: Janice (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 12 Feb 2000 22:07:05 -0000
Hi Tamara, I have endo too , diagnosed about 5 years ago also and am 26. I have had 2 laps to date and the last one was in July 1999. I then went on continuous BCPs until the beginning of October (my wedding was in September and we didnt want to try until after it and the honeymoon). Anyway to cut a long story short, I conceived in December and am now 10 weeks along. Its thought that the clearing up of at least some of the endo is the reason for that and also if your tubes are blocked then the lap might be successful in clearing them. I dont think mine were but there was dye passed through them during the lap anyway and they were fine. I suppose u should ask ur doctor about when to try to conceive after the lap, but in my opinion its probably when you feel comfortable with it. My scars are irritating me a little maybe because I had 4 incisions and 3 at the lap before that and also an appendix scar lol..so I look a bit like a railway track lol...All i need now is for them to give me a C section to complete the set :) If you do conceive before the surgery then Im sure that is brilliant. Your endo will be supressed at least for the 9 months (if you are lucky) or at worst is will improve and the pain will not be as severe. Best of luck and feel free to email me personally if I can be of any more help :) Janice
