Fraternal twins are passed down through the mother and identical twins are pure luck of the draw. So, your husband's family wouldn't impact your chances of having twins! Measuring large for your gestational age is one of the signs of twins, but it can be caused by other things. Perhaps you could request that your GP test your HCG levels, even if he/she can't get you into the office before the 28th. At least then, you might have some confirmation if the levels are very high. By the way, I am 28 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins. Good luck!
