Pregnancy changes the normal levels and if one is not aware of the effects of pregnancy (and especially twin pregnancy)on thyroid hormone levels one can make errors. Racing heart is more commonly caused by dehydration than Hyperthyroidism. After dehydration is ruled out then one would indeed consider hyperthyroidism.
