The OPK measures FSH(Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and the pregnancy test measurse HCG(Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin). Each of the hormones have 2 alpha chains and 2 Beta chains. The alpha chains of FSH and of HCG are identical. The Beta Chains are different. I would suspect that your OPK detects the alpha chain which is a lot easier to do than the Beta. The hospital did the Beta HCG. As far as the symptoms, just hang on and wait a while for your system to return to normal. It will.
