16w2d &Contractions. Seeking several opinions plz.From: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 15 Jan 2000 21:44:04 -0600 (CST)
I am 16week 2days and I am having contractions. I had this prob with my first pregnancy the whole time..spent nights in hospital under observation several times. Bed rest at 34 weeks w tributelein(sp?). Had son at 36 weeks. When I had the contractions there was no pain but I had a sort of breathless pulling sensation. I started feeling that around 13 weeks this time(Not sure about last time), however I could not feel my uterus and was not sure but when I mentioned it to my doc he said "nope, not likely" and that was the end of it. Well since last week I can feel my uterus and I can feel that it is getting hard, lasts for a half minute or so and losens up again. I also have that sensation. This time though the sensation lingers mildly after it lets go but I just attribute that to muscular fatigue. Anyway I called my doc after a period of an hour and half of which I had about 8. He told me they were not contractions because if they were he'd be writing a paper because it doesn't happen and that my uterus is just irritable and that alot of it is just the baby moving. He of course told me what I already knew and that was to drink lots and lots of water but I am telling you my uterus is bunching up and then letting go...baby moving? Please! I would like to know what a doctor here thinks.
