I was found to have a positive ANA after some bloodwork was done after my second miscarriage in 5 months. I did some research on the ANA problem and discovered Dr. Beer's website before I was scheduled to go back to my OB. Basically, I have found out that Dr. Beer is not your "mainstream" doctor. He has some very different ideas. Both my OB and my Maternal/Fetal specialist disagreed with his course of action. Dr. Beer recommended aspirin, heparin, and prednisone for my "condition". My doctors basically said I could take the baby aspirin if it made me feel better but that it isn't proven to be that effective. As far as the heparin and the prednisone they said it was not necessary. I was concerned as you are because I, too, was 5 wks pregnant when I was doing all this research (just 1 month after my D&C). Try not to take too much stock in Dr. Beer's opinion. The medical community strongly disagrees with him diagnosing and treating and prescribing medications to patients he has never even met. I hope this helps until one of the doctors can answer your question. Try to hang in there!
