Just diagnosedFrom: MB (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Sep 2003 16:56:52 -0500 (CDT)
I was just diagnosed with PCOS a couple months ago and I started on glucophage. My dr. did blood tests after I had symptoms such as facial hair and not being able to lose weight. This is a new dr. I'm seeing because I just moved to this area, so I don't really know her. But, she hasn't done any other tests (no ultrasound or referral to a reproductive endocrinologist) and that's all I'm hearing from my friends (that I need to have an ultrasound). My dr didn't really explain what PCOS is, so I've had to learn by doing research. I'm somewhat new to going to dr's, so I'm I guess what I'm wondering is, is this normal to not get much of a response/explanation from your dr.? Do I just need to be blunt and ask her my questions when I'm there next time? Thanks in advance for your help.
