I had a hysterectomy, Feb.2002. Everything was removed except for my cervix. I was full of fibroids and scar tissue which explained the extreme pain I was constantly in, sending me to the ER. If you have your surgery vaginally or lapr you have a much quicker recovery time unlike mine which was abdominal, that was about 6 weeks recovery. Which meant no driving, vacumming, bending, or lifting. It's the best thing I ever could of done for myself, the best I have felt since I was 10 yrs old, I am now 37. I am totally pain free. Think long and hard about your decision and get a second opinion if you need to. Hope this helps..
