PCOS, but thin, and no excessive hair...whats up with that? From: paris (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 23 Sep 2003 13:07:53 -0500 (CDT)
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS by the RE I sought for fertility problem. I am now on metformin @ 500mg a day last week, 1000mg a day this week. I understand this condition is common along with being overweight, being excessively hairy and having other typically male attributes. My doctor says I am not of the norm for PCOS. I've been trying to find out more about the condition but much of the information is specific to the typical PCOS person, ie. recommendations on loosing weight, etc. Is there anyone else out there in this similar situation? and by the way, instead of excessive hair, I'm actually loosing my hair at an alarming rate. Does anyone know if metformin will help stop my hair loss? any information would be a huge help. thanks in advance, p PS> For the record, since taking MET, I've been nauseous, have had diahrea, and chest tightness.
