New to site!From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 23 Sep 2003 08:51:23 -0500 (CDT)
I have not yet been diagnosed, but I have having some personal issues after giving birth to my daughter in May, 1997 and tried Deproprivera the shot. I had only one treatment of the shot, there was a change is my period so 3 months later- I decided to take my pills instead. That's when all the problems began. Slowly but surly. #1: No period!! When I took the shot, it was 6 weeks after the birth- my period didn't seem the same. It was very light and too short- but then I thought- "It's because my body is still getting back to normal." By the last month, my period was soooo light & short that it only lasted a day & a half. I went to my Doc, got my pills & waited for the sunday of my next period--I waited one month, 2 months, and 3- finally...I called my Doc & said it's not here. She said to start taking the pills- so I did, since I needed a jumpstart. #2: Then I realized that I had gained back 15 lbs from the time I gave birth. It was a lot of weight in my mid-section & face. I started out at 145 before pregnancy, 175-180 towards the end of pregnancy- then 160 after birth, I was breastfeeding, walking 1/2 mile 2-3 times a week, 3 weeks after birth. But couldn't lose the weight, then I started gaining weight from October-December, 15 lbs.- it was ssooo crazy. But I believed it was from stress since I was getting a divorce so I tried to maintain the weight. By the time my daughter turned one, I had gained about 20-25 lbs. I couldn't keep it off, and still needed the pills to have my period. #3: My face started to break out- lots of acne, oily patches, my neck, waist & underarms developed like dirty, dark Shadows and my upper lip hair started to get darker. I started to use more facial cleansing products, acne medicine, I started scrubbing the areas with the shadows but it didn't work, and I started waxing my upper lip every 3-4 weeks since the hair was growing so rapidly. Then I started to grow dark thick hair under my chin- it's sssoooo ugly & embarrassing. Plus I have scars from waxing and tweezing so much. I can not keep up with it. I get waxed on a Monday, by Thursday if I don't keep plucking-all the hair will grow back. I could keep on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on & on........... Talk about feeling less than a woman!! My husband is so understandable. He's so great. He always makes my feel beautiful. My doctors don't have a NAME for my issues/problems/concerns. I've to a 3 OB/GYN's, an Endocrinologist, have read many books, visited many websites- Still I have no period, can't get pregnant, have ance, hairy face & overweight. I feel so desperate, ssooo helpless, sssoo unlady-like.
