Hi kay, yes this sounds like PCOS.. I also had numbers on the high side of normal.. missed periods or long cycles.. also hair and skin problems. I am heavy but not obese.Did your doctor do a 3 hour glucose tolorance test with insulin draws?.. this will show if you are insulin resistant which is a sure fire way of really finding out if you have PCOS. My fasting insulin was also within normal .. but on the high side as well but was evidance enough to put me on glucophage(yes I know not all are inslulin resistant.. but i believe eventually all with PCOS end up that way)..Did they look at your overies with an ultrasound?.. you may or may not have cysts on them... not all of us have the cysts.. the name PCOS is a misnomer...I happened to have the classic string of pearls on both overies. well I hope this helped a little.. take care, Dona >At Sat, 20 Sep 2003, Kay wrote:
