I took a Glucose Tolerance Test, AC1, and fasting glucose tests, all came back within normal. My testosterone and DHEAS came back testing higher than normal, and I suffered unexplained weight gain and I have never had more that two periods a year, unless taking BCP's or Provera. My Doctor (an Endocrinologist), prescribed Metformin anyway. After three weeks I began having regular periods and feeling great. My testosterone and DHEAS are now within normal range. I have also lost weight. I have a strong family history of Diabetes Type II (PCOS?). I hope that the Metformin will help prevent or delay the onset of Diabetes. Rita
