Re: Anyone taking Glucophage and is in the same situation as me?

I am on multiple meds (4 to be exact) because I was not diagnosed until I was in my 40's due to physician ignorance and their ego-manic attitudes, although I look back on things now and realize I had it somewhere between age 16 and 22. Long gone are my days of being thin, having normal cholesterol levels, having a thick head of hair, and being pain free (I now suffer from fibromyalgia due to too many years of no treatment of IR and hormone imbalances). Therefore, glucophage alone couldn't do the trick for me at this advanced stage. I was too sick and had too many problems by this time.

But if you are young and your pcos problems are not so bad, there's a chance glucophage alone will be the answer for you. The best way to tell is go on it for awhile...6 months/a year?...and see how it works for you. Then take it from there. The fewer meds you'll need, the better off you'll be. And don't forget proper pcos diet and exercise. That along with meds helps too!

Be healthy :)
