Just to let you know i also am covered in stretch marks. They started
at age 12,on my hips and breasts, i was not overweight, but they were
explained away by the fact that i was growing and then later by weight
gain. However my weight has been stable for seven years and yet they
continue to spread. Now age 23 about 80% of my body has them. I found
that loosing weight does not necesarily improve them as scar tissue
doesn't shrink so the skin takes on a wrinkled apearance i find equally
un-atractive.I have found that using a vitamin e based cream helps them
fade to white faster, but they don't tan like normal skin so they will
always be visable.I had the basisc cushings disease tests done, they
were negative. The only thing that would give any indication of why this
is so, was a slight imbalance in my cortisone levels. However many of
my family members, including my father and one of my brothers have bad
stretch marks, so perhaps it is just a hereditary imperfection. I find
sarongs and filmy shirts a blessing in the summer when the scars on my
legs and arms are exposed by swim wear. Other than that, I have come to
terms with the fact that my body is just diferent from other peoples and
don't let it wory me. If you find a cause for your stretch marks i
would really apreciate you posting them here.
