Probably diagnosisFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 5 Sep 2003 15:31:11 -0500 (CDT)
I am new to posting, but I've been reading here for awhile and you all have helped me understand a lot. I was disgnosed in '99 by my interist at the time with 'probable PCOS' and was put on BCP for my lack of periods. Since the diagnosis, I've moved around alot, seen a few doctors that all said I didn't have PCOS regardless of the fact that I started to get more symptoms, weight gain, facial hair, etc. I recently started with a new doctor (family practioner) and am determined to get to the bottom of this. We did blood tests (FSH, LH, Testosterone, Lipids, Cholesterol, Thyroid, etc), I explained my symptoms, etc. and although she seems informed enough and willing to treat me, she also phrased her diagnosis as 'yes, you probably do have PCOS'. Has anyone else experienced this 'probable' phenomenon? It is because there is no one dinfinitive test for PCOS?
