It took me a VERY long time to find a doctor that would listen to my
needs, give me what I needed, who was willing to learn from me, and open
minded, and who was willing to help me get well. You are not alone in
your search and frustration.
Try a Reproductive Endocrinologist if you can. Even if you are not
interested in fertility, they seem to be more "up" on PCOS testing and
treatment. I see an RE because I have never been able to find a regular
Endo that I like.
Glucophage is the original diabetes/insulin resistance drug. Metformin
is the generic. Met is supposed to be the same as Glucophage, but
depending on the manufacturer, that can vary. The smallest variance can
make a big difference to some people, like me who gets no results on Met
so I take Glucophage, then there are others who do very well on Met. You
have to see what works for you.
