Re: Hot Flashes and AnxietyFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 2 Sep 2003 23:34:04 -0500 (CDT)
Hello Ann! I am only 24 and have hot flashes regularly. I actually was depressed because I thought I was going into menopause at age 24. I started to see a therapist for the depression. I told my therapist how I just knew I was going into menopause and how I thought I would never have kids and everything else. Well I am so grateful to him. He actually recognized my symptoms of PCOS and now I'm on treatment. I still have the hot flashes pretty much EVERY day. My GYN told me once my hormones get back to normal I should have less. I just hope she's right. It's embaressing sweating like a popcicle in the sun, when you are in a well air conditioned room. I have been told soy is very helpful to women going thru hot flashes. My mom and I started drinking soy milk now. She is not having any hot flahses. So I am hopeful especially with winter coming :) Good luck to you and keep cool...bb
