Being on the pill could have affected your blood work, and it's possible that the right tests weren't run (you'd be amazed how often that happens) or it's just possible that your hormone levels are within what's considered normal limits, but are high for your body. Weight does not CAUSE PCOS, PCOS does cause weight gain. "Unexplained weight gain" is a recognized symptom of this syndrome. However, excess fat can contribute further to the problem by making imbalanced hormone issues worse, so sometimes weight loss does make a difference in how we feel. But losing weight won't cure PCOS any more than gaining weight caused it in the first place. Most doctors and researchers think that a genetic problem with how our bodies use and produce insulin is the basic issue behind all of the hormonal and metabolic problems. HTH!
