Hello. I'm new here and a little bit confused. I haven't been diagnosed with pcos, but I think I have many of the symptoms:acne, excess hair, skin tags, dark patches in my armpits, slightly irregular periods, family history of diabetes. I had some bloodwork done to test hormone levels which came back normal, but I’m also on the pill which I think would affect the outcome. Am I crazy to think that it could be pcos? It would just be nice to know there is a reason for all the lovely things I'm experiencing. I also found out I have endometriosis when I had a dermoid cyst removed about 3 ½ years ago. Anyway, one of the things I'm confused about if the relationship between pcos and weight. I actually read somewhere that being overweight can cause pcos, is that true? I've gained a lot of weight over the past few years, but had these symptoms for much longer. I know there is no cure for pcos, but for many people the symptoms lessen or disappear after losing weight. Does this mean hormone levels return to normal, therefore the pcos goes away? Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I just haven't found an answer. Thanks.
