Re: PCOS symptoms - anxiety, rosaceaFrom: Jules (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Aug 2003 23:16:24 -0500 (CDT)
Hi there! I just was just diagnosed as insulin resistant and have all the symptoms commonly associated with PCOS including excess facial hair, thining head hair and acne rosacea, except my hormone levels are in the acceptable range. I am intrigued by your description of heart 'hicups'. My mother (also recently diagnosed with PCOS, unfortunatley after a historectomy) has always suffered with un-explained heart palpitations, and about 6 months ago i described almost exactly what you described to my docotor. A heart monitor worn for two days showed no iregularity. However i noticed that stress, good or bad, coupled with iregular eating had an obvious impact on these 'heart hicups' and racing pulse. At times it feels like my whole body is rocking with my hearbeat, yet, when checked my blood preasure is normal. I would like to see a more extensive study into the symptoms experienced by people with PCOS and insulin resistance, other than those linked to fertility. Do you know of any such study?
