Hi Celeste, Most desserts are no nos if you have PCOS. Maybe I'll rephrase that> Most of the deserts that you are thinking about are no nos. Full of sugar and white flour. However the outlook isnt all that bleak. Icecream isnt to bad for you in moderation. Lactose in the cream is a "good carb". The fat content, especially in premium icecreams slow down the sugar that is in it. Surprizingly, it's the low fat icecreams are not too good for you. To take out the fat and still have a icecream consistancy there is alot of starches and extra sugar added in. Got a TCBY in the neighborhood???? Yougurt is very good for you.

There are other alternatives to the sweet tooth itch. Fresh fruit with a protein (apple with a slice of cheese) is a good choice in moderation. I sit on the fence about recomending sugar substitutes. The more I read splenda seems the safest over equal. I know there bad for you, but yes I do eat them. A little sugar free orange jello with cool whip on it is a yummy treat.
