2 drs. differing opinionsFrom: Beth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 29 Aug 2003 22:44:56 -0500 (CDT)
Several years ago I went to an endo. for treatment of PCOS like complaints, including hair loss on head, hair growth elsewhere, weight gain, ect. He diagnosed me with PCOS, due to increased hormone levels. My OB-GYN who delivered my fourth child said that there are other causes of these symptoms, and since I have been pregnant five times and have monthly periods, PCOS seems unlikely. Also during my delivery I had a c-section and my doctor saw no signs that indicated PCOS to him. So now I'm confused, and wondered if anyone might have been through or heard of something like this. I'd really appreciate some help since I've lost my medical coverage and so can't easily invest in more office visits and tests.
